Visitor Info
The Saxonburg BBQ Smokeout is held cooperatively with the Saxonburg Artisans
Market, an annual weekend festival where artisans, makers and performing artists will
highlight their talents. Main Street will be closed and the town will be filled with vendors,
music, great food and beverages.
Saturday, September 6th: 10am-6pm
Sunday, September 7th: 11am-4pm
Smoked chicken wings and BBQ favorites will be available at the Fireman’s Lunch
Stand, located at First Responders Park (Carnival Grounds). Patrons can also
participate in a fan-favorite BBQ sauce judging.
Visitors are welcome to visit the BBQ area and witness dozens of BBQ teams
competing for pride, prizes and points in an official KCBS competition. Judging is on
Sunday and awards will be announced live around 4 p.m. *Please note that, due to
government regulations, competition teams are not permitted to sell BBQ.
BBQ talk and demonstrations will also be organized.
Competitor Info
This is an officially sanctioned KCBS Master Series Competition and follows KCBS
Rules as such. Teams will be judged on the four main meats: chicken, ribs, pork and
brisket. Registration is open to all BBQ Teams, whether KCBS member or not.
Teams may arrive on either Friday or Saturday and will be provided a previously
determined location at the event grounds, 155 Pittsburgh Street, Saxonburg, PA 16056.
Water and 120v electric power will be provided as part of registration. Overnight camping
is permitted with prior notification.
Official turn in times will begin at Noon on Sunday. Awards are scheduled for 4 p.m.
A detailed schedule and additional information will be provided to registered teams as
the competition nears.
KCBS Judging Info
Judges for the sanctioned competition must be certified and may register through the KCBS website.
Sponsorship Info
Custom sponsorships for the Saxonburg BBQ Smokeout are available and may include financial support or in kind contributions. Sponsors will be receive recognition on online channels and during the event. Please call the Fire Company Office to inquire: 724-352-3430.

Note #1: Payment for Campers will be processed separately from event registration and collected in-person during the event weekend.
Note #2: If the name of the individual making the payment does NOT match the Chief Cook Name filled out during Step 1, please include the name of the payee in the comment field during Step 1, OR email svfcsmokeout@gmail.com after your payment to let us know which team to attribute it to.
